SDC288: Christmas

Welcome back!  This week I'm playing along with the Stampotique Designer's Challenge again.  As you might guess, the theme this month is Christmas!  Although I love the sentiment of this holiday season, it can be challenging to stay sane amidst the holiday parties and shoppers scrambling to find the perfect top secret gifts for their loved ones!  I hope you will take a minute out of your holiday preparations to share one of your Christmas projects for this challenge!

SDC283: Anything But A Card - Week Two

It time for another Stampotique Designer's Challenge and I'm thrilled to play along!  This week, the sky's the limit! You can create anything - except a card!  I interpreted this theme to mean no greeting cards, so I have created an ATC to swap instead.  I had intended for it to be a bit spooky for October, but I think it turned out a little more funny instead... maybe dead grass would have worked better! LOL! :)  I hope you'll scare up a project to play along for your chance to win one of the $30 gift certificates for the Stampotique store!

SDC282: Only Blues

Welcome back for the Stampotique Designer's Challenge! This one might have you singing the Blues! It's all about Blue! You can't use black in your creations - only blue. It is ok to have some white space in your background but no black ink this week - only hues of beautiful blue.

I love any blue that has green in it too, so I've used various hues of teal in my little creation.  I hope you'll use your favourite blues and play along with us!

Whether it be paper lace, a lace stamp, a lace die, some fabric ribbon or a ribbon stamp, no matter what it is it must be ribbon or lace (and I have stretched the interpretation to include satin rope).

SDC262: Naughty or Nice

It's time for this week's Stampotique Designers Challenge!  This week we get to play along with the fun theme of Naughty or Nice.  My project does kinda reflect how I feel about all the goodies that just seem to be everywhere you go at this time of year - I eat as much as I can when no one is looking! I guess that makes me naughty!! I'm not quite as dedicated as Newton who took an elbow to the eye to score his big candy cane! :)  Which are you - naughty or nice?  I can't wait to see your project!  Play along for your chance to win a $30 Stampotique gift certificate! Happy Holidays!!

It's time for this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenge.  The theme this week is super fun - "Human with Animal Head." The possibilities are endless. Use a human Stampotique body and add a Stampotique animal head to create a fun new character. The hardest part is going to be deciding which combo to use!!  Here's my nerdy feline friend, Gerty!  I can't wait to see who you create for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique store.

It's time for a brand new challenge at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge!  This week our challenge theme is Favourite Quote.
"What is your favourite quote of all time? Be it funny, inspirational or religious, let's see your favourite quote this week."
So, of course it's actually impossible to select just one quote as my favourite, but I have been holding onto this quote for a long time waiting for just the right challenge!  A stamp positioner was a great help deciding where to put the quote on this clean and simple project.

There isn't any snail mail that's more fun to receive than mail art! I have attached the sequins with clear glaze so I can send it naked and they'll stay attached through all of the postal machinery.  I can't wait to see what you'll create this week!

SDC 255 - Polka Dots

Welcome back for the next installation of the Stampotique Designer's Challenge!  This week the team is exploring the glorious world of polka dots!!  Polka dots are so versatile and there is such a variety of how you can use them - anything goes!  I have used a polka dot paper for Kassa's Bloom on my project, but I'm afraid they are pretty subtle and a wee bit difficult to see in the picture.  They are there - honest!  You'll have two fabulous weeks to play along with this theme!  I can't wait to see how you get your dots on!!

SDC246: Anything But Black

It's time again for the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. Samantha Read is our hostess this week and she is challenging us to "Anything but Black" Here is what Samantha says about this challenge:
"The first thing I usually do after choosing which stamp I'm going to use is to reach for my black inkpad. So I'm challenging myself and you to make anything you fancy so long as there is no black ink or paint etc. Have fun!"
I'm with you, Sam!  I pretty much always reach for the black ink pad.  It's nice to be reminded that I have some other beautiful colors that I should be using - at least occasionally!!  For this project, I decided to use VersaFine Vintage Sepia.  The thin lines of the camper sort of look like black, but you can tell it's brown because the tire is brown! :)

"I want to see scribbles in your projects this week, that can be by hand or by stamp, just add some scribbles."
Here's my scribbly little project.  It's my first time playing with Dylusions paints.  I just used a baby wipe to rub them around the page and make a background.  Then I stencilled and stamped on top of them.  I had such fun that I made a few more backgrounds while I was at it!!  I hope you'll play along with Arwen's super fun challenge - you have all month to submit an entry!

"I really struggle with cards for men. So this week I would like to see what you make when you need a masculine card."
Corrie, I always struggle with masculine cards too.  I usually end up trying to include something humorous or punny for guy cards... this one was no exception! :)  I really like how the new XXXX Border can be made to look like the perfect little fence!

"This week I want to see what you can create that is inspired by your favorite tv shows or movie."
Kristen's fun challenge gave me an opportunity to work on the next entry in my art journal.  I have to confess that work in an art journal is still quite foreign to me.  This is only my second page, but I had lots of fun pulling it together with a few stamps from the new release!
